Contract Deductions for Sick Time. If a driver calls in sick, amounts will be deducted from contract payments because of time not worked that was included in the contract route time estimate. These deductions would be for driver absences from work that are not covered by sick leave or other authorized paid leave. Employees who call in sick for the am route only on a day they have a field trip scheduled will not be allowed to use the field trip time to cover time calculated in their contract amount. The normal sick leave policy will be followed, and drivers will have the hours deducted from their accumulated sick leave.
