Common use of Course Cancellation Clause in Contracts

Course Cancellation. 18.1 The Employer agrees that once a Member has accepted an offer of employment, there shall be no layoff or reduction in normal earnings for the Member except by reason of course cancellation, contract discontinuance for just cause, or in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. 18.2 If the Employer cancels a course prior to the first day of classes, the Member shall be paid a cancellation stipend of $400.00 per 1 FCE (6 credit hours or pro-rated accordingly) pro rata to a Member’s percentage responsibility for the course. 18.3 If the Employer cancels a course within the two (2) week period following the first day of classes, the Member shall be paid a cancellation stipend of $750.00 per 1 FCE (6 credit hours or pro-rated accordingly) pro rata to a Member’s percentage responsibility for the course. Effective August 1, 2014 the amount increases to $800.00 per FCE (6 credit hours or pro-rated accordingly).
