PERSONNEL BENEFITS. 28.01 Personnel Benefits Committee A Personnel Benefits Committee consisting of not more than 11 members, 3 of whom will be appointed by the Union, will be established. The Committee will meet at least semi-annually to review, discuss and make recommendations on matters of mutual interest concerning the benefits under the Staff Pension Plan, the Group Life Insurance Plan, the Medical Insurance Plan and the Dental Plan. Two of the Union members of the Personnel Benefits Committee will be members of the Staff Pension Plan Committee. The existence of the Personnel Benefits Committee will not preclude either party from proposing changes in these benefits at the time of collective bargaining.

28.02 Pension Plan
Section A - Pension Plan Participation and Contributions
(a) All regular employees who, at the time of their regular appointment, are eligible under the terms of the mutually accepted Staff Pension Plan will, as a condition of employment, participate in the Plan. All such employees will contribute the following minimum percentages of basic salary by payroll deduction (inclusive of the 0.25% the employees contribute to the mutually acceptable fund for pension supplements: Salary in excess of the “year’s maximum pensionable earnings” 6.53%
(b) Effective April 1, 2006 the University will contribute a minimum of 10.5% of basic salary inclusive of the 0.25% the University contributes to the mutually acceptable fund for pension supplements.
PERSONNEL BENEFITS. The Component 3 benefit plan will be changed such that Sessional Lecturers will, effective October 1, 2019, join the CUPE 951 and 917 Extended Health and Dental Plans and will be subject to the design and costs of those plans as negotiated by those locals.
PERSONNEL BENEFITS. 9.1 During the term of this Agreement, the University agrees to maintain the Flexible Benefits Program. The University-funded portion of this program shall be maintained by the University during the life of this agreement so as to permit eligible faculty to buy back benefits equivalent to those currently provided in the following areas:
(a) Medical-Surgical (with major medical)
(b) Total Disability
(c) Life Insurance
(d) Dental Program
(e) Vision Care Program The cost of the individual's portion of this program shall be subject to the standard rate adjustments applicable to the benefits selected by the eligible faculty member. Additional benefits to be provided by the program may be recommended by a Benefits and Cost Containment Committee to the University Administration. During the term of this Agreement, any reduction in benefits in the Flexible Benefits Program shall not occur without negotiations with the AAUP regarding the benefits being reduced. When a faculty member who has met the age and service requirements for full retirement dies, his/her spouse or civil union spouse (as defined in the University’s domestic partner benefits policy, xxxx://xxx.xxxx.xxx/Benefits/menu/dp.html) will continue to be eligible for the same health care benefits as stipulated by the State of Delaware, or if the University chooses another provider, that would have been available if the faculty member had retired.
