Common use of Credit for Probationary Service Clause in Contracts

Credit for Probationary Service. Credit shall be given each probationary appointee for full-time service at Montana State University – Northern in the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor; except time on summer session appointments or contract other than the academic or fiscal year contracts; or time on leave resulting in an absence from the institution for an excess of thirty (30) calendar days. A maximum of two (2) years credit for prior full-time service in the rank Instructor or above at other accredited four (4) year institutions of higher learning in the United States may be granted by the Xxxxxxx writing at the time of initial appointment. Credit for prior service shall apply for purposes of tenure eligibility only. In the absence of a specific written agreement, no credit for prior service shall be given.
