Criteria for Renewal of Appointment. (i) Preliminary appointments shall be renewed when the teaching effectiveness or the effectiveness in undertaking other primary duties (as defined in the appropriate job description) of An Instructor employee is at or not significantly below the norm defined in Article 12.2(f), unless there is evidence of a seriously deficient performance in other assigned areas of responsibility. Where there is such evidence, teaching effectiveness which is substantially above the norm shall compensate.
