Common use of Crown Thinning Clause in Contracts

Crown Thinning. Crown Thinning includes crown cleaning and the selective removal of branches to increase light penetration and air movement into and through the crown. Care must be used to avoid stripping branches of all foliage at the interior of the tree crown. When thinning the crown of mature trees, up to thirty (30) percent of the live foliage may be removed unless directed otherwise by the County.
