The goal is to ensure that all staff training and decision-making processes are respectful and inclusive of the richness of the varied cultures staff bring to SPS and will increase the ability of employees to understand and teach to the strengths of the students. Attending to the need to respect and reflect on the differences that each individual brings to the school community, adult learning models designed to infuse all staff development and decision-making processes with culturally responsive techniques, processes and norms will be used for all trainings. b. The Professional Development Steering Committee will have guidelines and processes designed to integrate culturally relevant materials and assessments into all new instructional material adoptions. They will also use a process for infusing culturally relevant material into existing curriculum. c. Understanding and skills to increase the ability of school staff to communicate with parents/guardians, students, and school communities will be available as a professional development module.
