Cultural Relations. Generations of eminent Hungarian Indologists have laid the foundation of great respect and admiration that Hungarians have for Indian culture, philosophy, art and spiritual thought. These include Csoma xx Xxxxxx, Xxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxxxx Xxxx Xxxxxxx and Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxxx. From Indian side, Xxxxxxxx Xxxx Xxxxxx and Xxxxxx Xxxxxxx have made significant contributions. Indology has always formed a major part of the work of the Department of Indo-European Studies at ELTE University. Sanskrit was formally included as a regular subject of study in the university in 1873. Under the bilateral Cultural Exchange Programme between India and Hungary, ICCR has been deputing a Visiting Professor of Hindi to the Department since 1992. There is considerable interest among Hungarians in Indian dances, music, yoga and meditations. There are more than 200 yoga centres and about 8 schools of Indian dances and music in Hungary. Indian cultural troupes visit Hungary from time to time.

Cultural Relations. The IICR was established in 2013 to explore how global cultural interactions in areas such as the arts, education, sports and political economy can have an impact. Through programmes and research it promotes a better understanding of how to bridge the gap between diverse global cultures when engaging in political and cultural diplomacy.

Cultural Relations. 39. In Brazil, there is a lot of interest in India’s culture, religion, performing arts and philosophy. Ramakrishna Mission, ISKCON, Xxxxx Xxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Bhakti Vedanta Foundation and other spiritual gurus and organizations have chapters in Brazil. Folkloric traditions and celebrations from India relate a lot to the joyful and colorful festivities in Brazil. Indian philosophy, spirituality and religion were the first forms of Indian culture to reach Brazil. The first classical Indian art form to come to Brazil was Bharatanatyam, followed by Xxxxxx, Xxxxxx and Kuchipudi.
Cultural Relations. India and Nepal share traditional cultural bonds and people-to-people relations. Indian culture is popular among all strata of Nepalese society. As part of cultural exchange porgrammes many well-noted artists and troupes visited Nepal.
