Common use of Date of Commencement Clause in Contracts

Date of Commencement. The date of commencement of the Work shall be the first business day after Contractor receives a written Notice to Proceed issued by the Owner. The Notice to Proceed shall not be issued by the Owner until the Agreement has been signed by Contractor, approved by Owner, signed by Owner’s authorized representatives, and Owner and Architect have received all required payment and performance bonds and insurance, in compliance with this Contract.
