Day Celebrated Clause Samples

The 'Day Celebrated' clause defines which specific day an event, holiday, or obligation is officially recognized or observed under the agreement. In practice, this clause clarifies whether a particular date, such as a public holiday, is observed on its actual calendar date or moved to a different day (for example, if the holiday falls on a weekend). This ensures all parties have a shared understanding of when certain rights, duties, or benefits apply, thereby preventing confusion or disputes about the timing of observances or deadlines.
Day Celebrated. Except for personal holidays, holidays falling on a Saturday shall be celebrated on the preceding Friday and holidays falling on a Sunday shall be celebrated on the following Monday.
Day Celebrated. If any of these holidays fall on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will normally be granted as a day off with pay in lieu of the actual holiday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will normally be granted as a day off with pay in lieu of the actual holiday.
Day Celebrated. In the event a holiday, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, falls on Saturday, the immediate preceding Friday shall be recognized as the holiday. In the event a holiday, except Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, falls on Sunday, the immediate following Monday shall be recognized as the holiday. When Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve fall on a Saturday, the day of celebration is the preceding Friday.
