Common use of DEPARTMENTAL MEETINGS Clause in Contracts

DEPARTMENTAL MEETINGS. 1. Any full-time regular employee who is required to attend a departmental "troop" meeting scheduled by the Director outside of his or her regular work shift shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the regular hourly rate for such off-duty attendance. An employee may choose, with the consent and approval of supervision, to take compensatory time off at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) hours off for each such hour of off-duty attendance in lieu of such pay. There shall be a minimum of two (2) hours pay or compensatory time at this rate when such meetings are outside the regular work shift. 2. The Xxxxxxx will be notified in advance of all departmental "troop" meetings. It is the Xxxxxxx'x responsibility to attend the meeting called on his or her shift and to appoint a designee from those employees who are on duty to attend other shift meetings.
