Common use of DEPARTMENTAL OR OFFICE SAFETY COMMITTEES Clause in Contracts

DEPARTMENTAL OR OFFICE SAFETY COMMITTEES. The Union shall have the right to participate in any and all existing departmental or office safety committees or in any other formal or informal arrangement relating to safety as may currently be in effect. The Union shall further have the right to initiate a safety committee or other formal or informal arrangement relating to safety as may be appropriate to the work situation in any department or office where such committees or other arrangements do not currently exist. It is the specific intent of this subsection that all committees or other such formal or informal organizational arrangements relating to safety as may hereafter be established shall be by mutual agreement of the parties; that such organizational arrangements shall be bilateral in nature; and that at least one (1) representative of the County and one (1) representative of the Union shall be formally designated to meet as necessary on safety matters.
