Deputy Sheriff and Chief or Corrections Administrator. An employee or the Union shall present the grievance in writing to the Deputy Sheriff and Chief or Corrections Administrator not later than the date prescribed in Section 2.3 hereof. The grievance shall contain a short, plain statement of the grievance and specific reference to the section(s) of the Agreement which the Union or employee claims have been violated. Said Deputy Sheriff and Chief or Corrections Administrator forthwith upon receiving said grievance, shall make a good-faith effort to resolve same, including as appropriate, discussions with the employee, investigation, and consultation with his/her superiors. Said Deputy Sheriff and Chief or Corrections Administrator shall reply to the employee or Union, in writing, by the end of the seventh (7th) day after a meeting is held on the grievance, or, in the event that there is no meeting held, by the end of the seventh (7th) day after the grievance is submitted.
