Dismissal/Reduction in Rank. A dismissal or reduction in rank shall be maintained as a permanent record. When a disciplinary record is removed from the member’s personnel file, no copy shall be retained in the personnel file. When a record is subject to removal, it shall have no further force and effect for disciplinary purposes. Nothing herein precludes the City from retaining an Internal Affairs Record noting the final outcome of an investigation. Copies of disciplinary records will be destroyed in accordance with the records retention schedule as adopted and modified from time to time by the City Records Commission.
