Voluntary Reduction in Hours. Appointing Authorities may allow employee(s) to take unpaid leaves of absence to reduce layoffs otherwise necessary. If it is necessary to limit the number of employees in a work unit on unpaid leave at the same time, the Appointing Authority shall determine whether conflicts shall be resolved among classes or within a particular class based upon staffing needs. In either event, leave shall be granted on the basis of State Seniority within the employee's work unit. Such employees taking leaves of absence under this Section shall continue to accrue vacation and sick leave and be eligible for paid holidays and insurance benefits as if the employees had been actually employed during the time of leave. If a leave of absence is for one (1) full pay period or longer, any holiday pay shall be included in the first payroll period warrant after return from the leave of absence. Upon return from leave, the employee shall return to his/her former position.
Voluntary Reduction in Hours. The Appointing Authority may allow a supervisor to take an unpaid leave of absence if the Appointing Authority determines that the following conditions are met:
Voluntary Reduction in Hours. The assignment of an employee in a full-time (forty [40] hours per week) position to a four-fifths time (thirty-two [32] hours per week) position upon the request of the employee.

Voluntary Reduction in Hours a. The County may, as an alternative to, or in conjunction with a layoff, call for volunteers, from amongst the members of the class in the department in which layoff is contemplated, to work reduced hours in lieu of the deletion of a full-time position.
Voluntary Reduction in Hours. The Appointing Authority may allow a teacher to take an unpaid leave of absence or reduce their hours if the Appointing Authority determines that the following conditions are met:
Voluntary Reduction in Hours. Voluntary reduction in hours is employee consent to a reduction of hours of assignment to a lower classification in lieu of involuntary reduction in hours.

No less than fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the date the reduced-in- hours positions are effective, notice of the County's decision to establish such four-fifths time positions in lieu of full-time positions shall be given, by posting on departmental bulletin boards, to supervisors in the affected class and department. No less than seven (7) calendar days prior to the date the reduced-in-hours positions are effective, full-time supervisors in the class and department may request assignment to the four-fifths time positions. Subject to the provisions of Subsection b., supervisors in the class and department, who so volunteer in writing, shall be assigned to four-fifths time positions on the basis of seniority.
Voluntary Reduction in Hours. An employee may request to reduce their working hours for a period not to exceed one (1) year, to help reduce permanent layoffs. The employee and their supervisor will determine if a reduction in hours is ARTICLE 2 (continued) feasible, based on department staffing needs. The President or designee will have final approval for the reduction in hours. At the end of the one (1)-year period, the employee may choose to reinstate their original working hours or request to continue working the reduced hours. The employee shall be paid their current salary and benefits based on their new percentage of fulltime. The employee, supervisor and President or designee will sign a form agreeing to the reduced hours and new work schedule. The form will be kept in the employees personnel file.
