District Contribution Towards Premiums. Eligible employees shall be entitled to the District’s contribution towards the premium costs of the plans in which they and their dependents are enrolled if: a. the eligible employee was in paid status for at least 12 working days during the calendar month preceding the month during which benefit coverage is effective. An employee shall be deemed to be in paid status during any recess or intercession if he or she is scheduled to return to paid status at the end of the recess or intercession; or b. the eligible employee, even though not in paid status, is on a formal illness leave of absence for a period of not more than eighteen months.
