Health Benefits for Retirees. The District will offer a benefit program for Unit Members after retirement with the following parameters:
1. All District Unit Members retired under the provisions of the State Teachers’ Retirement System are eligible for participation in the PERS Health Benefits Program.
Health Benefits for Retirees. 10 A. Any employee hired in the District before July 1, 2012 and who has served in a 11 credentialed position for the District for a period of not less than five (5) full-time years 12 and has attained the age of 55 and has not attained the age of 65 is eligible for all 13 medical, mental health, dental, vision care, and life and accidental death and 14 dismemberment benefits given by the District to employees upon his/her retirement. Any 15 employee hired on or after July 1, 2012 and who has served in a credentialed position 16 for the District for a period of not less than ten (10) full-time years and has attained the 17 age of 55 and has not attained the age of 65 is eligible for all medical, mental health, 18 dental, vision care, and life and accidental death and dismemberment benefits given by 19 the District to employees upon his/her retirement.
20 B. Any employee who has served in a credentialed position in the District for a period of 21 not less than twenty (20) years and has attained the age of 50 and has not attained the 22 age of 55 is eligible for all medical, mental health, dental, vision care, and life and 23 accidental death and dismemberment benefits given by the District to employees upon 24 his/her retirement for ten (10) years.
25 C. The District shall provide the retired employee the same insurance benefits (medical, 26 dental, vision, mental health, and life insurance) that would be provided if the person 27 were a regular, non-retired employee eligible for benefits. In the event the retiree dies, 28 and the spouse or registered domestic partner and/or eligible dependents are enrolled 12 spouse or registered domestic partner is eligible under Medicare or MediCal.
13 D. After the retiree and his/her dependents or registered domestic partner are no longer 14 eligible for District Health Benefits, the retiree may purchase the same health benefits 15 given to regular employees through COBRA for a fee of 102% of the cost of benefits for 16 regular employees, (unless the retiree is no longer eligible for COBRA benefits). These 17 benefits shall be secondary to any benefits for which the retiree or dependents is eligible 18 under Medicare or Medical.
19 E. When the retiree is no longer eligible for COBRA benefits, the retiree and spouse or 20 registered domestic partner may purchase the same medical and dental benefits 21 provided to regular employees. Those who are Medicare eligible may purchase the 22 same medical and dental benefits provi...
Health Benefits for Retirees. 1. Teachers who retire with ten (10) years or more experience in District 15 will be permitted to enroll in the District medical/dental benefit plan at their own cost, for a period of five (5) years following retirement, except those retiring pursuant to Article XX paragraph B (Retirement Incentive Option Plan), Letter of Agreement 1: VSOP (contained in the 2006-2009 CTC Negotiated Agreement) the premium rate for such insurance shall be equal to 100% of the active employee rate.
2. The District recognizes that some Teachers may not be eligible for Medicare participation as fully insured Social Security participants. Retired Teachers over the age of sixty-five (65), who meet the following criteria, will be permitted to continue as full benefit members of the District’s Teacher Health Benefit Plan:
a. The plan is available only to the retiree who is not eligible to participate in Medicare Parts A and B as a fully covered Social Security participant or whose spouse is not fully covered under Social Security.
b. The Teacher must have worked for the District for ten (10) years immediately prior to retirement.
c. The plan will provide health benefits contained in the District’s regular Teacher group medical benefit plan.
d. The retiree will pay the full single monthly premium at the group rate currently in effect. The Teacher’s spouse may also be enrolled at an additional monthly premium equal to that of the retiree. If the retiree wishes to cover eligible dependents other than his/her spouse, the retiree must enroll for family coverage at the monthly premium currently in effect.
e. All premiums are subject to periodic review and may be revised from time to time as determined by the Board.
3. Retired Teachers shall be provided medical and dental insurance coverage that is no less favorable than provided to any other Retired Certified District 15 employee.
Health Benefits for Retirees. Retirees receiving health benefits shall notify the District of their current address and status of any dependent. This notification shall be done by May 1 of each year. Failure to notify the District shall relieve the District of its obligation under this contract. The District shall notify in writing past retirees of this section before termination of the District obligation.
21.6.1 The District shall provide full health insurance coverage for the retiree and one (1) eligible dependent, if any, under the conditions following. The selection of the health plan shall be from among those specified in Section 21.1.
21.6.1.1 The District contribution for retiree health benefits shall be as follows: The District shall pay the minimum contract amount directly to PERS Health on a monthly basis. In addition, the District shall provide for each retiree, a supplement for fringe benefits equal to the cost of Kaiser Los Angeles Area Region single party program, plus 90% of the cost of one dependent, if any. Such supplement shall be for purchase of district fringe benefit program only.

A. Hospital-Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits. Eligible retirees and their eligible dependents and survivors shall have the right to continue their participation in the Health Benefits plans available to active employees, subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement. Nothing in this Agreement, however, shall be construed as conveying any vested right to any particular plan, plan design, or plan component. Health Benefits for Retirees. 8 An employee who has served the District for a period of not less than ten 9 (10) full-time years is eligible for benefits as a retiree in accord with the 10 provisions below. For the purposes of this section, full-time is defined as 11 six (6) hours or more per day for all 9.5 – 12.0 month employees.
12 a. A classified employee who has served the District in an assignment of 13 six (6) hours or more per day for a period of not less than ten (10) full- 14 time years and who has attained the age of 50, may extend coverage 15 for a period of eight (8) years or until age 65, whichever occurs first.
16 b. A classified employee who has served the District in an assignment of 17 six (6) hours or more per day for a period of not less than fifteen (15) 18 full-time years and who has attained the age of 50, may extend 19 coverage for a period of fifteen (15) years or until age 65, whichever 20 occurs first.
21 c. A classified employee who has served the District in an assignment of 22 six (6) hours or more per day for a period of not less than ten (10) full- 23 time years and who has attained the age of 55, may extend coverage 24 until age 65.
25 d. The employee may extend the entire health benefits package of 26 medical, mental health, dental, vision and life and accidental death and 27 dismemberment benefits if the employee has received or been eligible 28 to receive the entire health benefits package for a period of not less 1 than ten (10) years.
2 e. An employee who does not meet the criteria outlined in provision 3 A.7.d. may extend only medical and mental health if the employee has 4 received or been eligible to receive medical and mental health benefits 5 for a period of not less than ten (10) years. Dependent coverage may 6 be purchased by the employee.
7 f. Employees who retire from the District and from PERS on or after 8 January 1, 2003 shall make the same contributions for medical 9 coverage required of existing employees. In the event the retiree who 10 meets the criteria outlined in provision A.7.d. dies, and the spouse or 11 registered domestic partner and/or eligible dependents are enrolled in 12 the District’s Health Benefits program, the health benefits (medical, 13 mental health, dental, and vision) will be continued for the retiree’s 14 spouse or registered domestic partner and eligible dependents 15 (pursuant to Plan Document provisions) provided he/she has attained 16 the age of 55 and has not attained the age of 65. Health Benefits for Retirees. The District shall pay the full insurance premium of bargaining unit members and 8 providing that the bargaining unit member has attained the age of fifty-five (55) and has 9 rendered the equivalent of fifteen (15) years of full-time service to the District, during which time 10 he/she has been covered by District paid health insurance, as follows:
Health Benefits for Retirees. Employees shall be entitled to fully-paid health insurance benefits equal to current benefits provided personnel for all employees retiring from the Anaheim Elementary School District who are at least 55 years of age and have worked ten
