District-wide Staff Development. One (1) day (or the equivalent thereof) will be used annually for a district wide program of staff development. After consultation with his/her Faculty Council, each building principal may schedule summer in-service day during the months of July or August in lieu of the district in-service day provided that this “trade” day is approved by a 2/3 vote of the building faculty prior to the end of the preceding school year. All teachers will be required to participate in the district- wide staff development day or summer “trade” day.
