Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy and Procedures. The general intent of this provision is to assist the employer in determining if the employee is using alcohol or drugs or are under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the workday. The district shall not discriminate, discipline or discharge an employee solely upon the employee voluntarily seeking treatment, while under the employ of the employer, for a drug-related problem if the employee has not previously tested positive for drug use, entered an employee assistance program for drug-related problems, or entered a drug rehabilitation program. This shall not prohibit the employee from taking appropriate disciplinary action, as set forth below, for work-related allegations of impairment.
