Common use of Dual Coverage Clause in Contracts

Dual Coverage. A. Each employee and retiree may be covered only by a single County health (and/or dental) plan, including a CalPERS plan. For example, a County employee may be covered under a single County health and/or dental plan as either the primary insured or the dependent of another County employee or retiree, but not as both the primary insured and the dependent of another County employee or retiree. B. All dependents, as defined in Section 20.5, Family Member Eligibility Criteria, may be covered by the health and/or dental plan of only one spouse or one domestic partner. For example, when both husband and wife are County employees, all of their eligible children may be covered as dependents of either the husband or the wife, but not both. C. For purposes of this Section 20.6 only, “County” includes the County of Contra Costa and all special districts governed by the Board of Supervisors, including, but not limited to, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
