Common use of Early Leave from School for Courses Clause in Contracts

Early Leave from School for Courses. Classified personnel may be permitted to leave school fifteen (15) minutes before the end of the work day for the purpose of taking courses for college credit. Such courses must be for one of the following reasons: 1. Update job related skills for advancement. 2. Part of a planned program for a degree. 3. Upgrade skills for a promotion. Classified personnel shall not be permitted to leave early for this purpose more than two (2) days per week. Employees who are permitted to leave early under this provision shall not be required to make up the time lost. The Classified Unit and members of the bargaining unit shall indemnify and save the Board harmless against and from any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability that may arise out of or be reason of action taken, or not taken by the Board for the purpose of complying with this request.
