Common use of Educational Hours and Expenses Clause in Contracts

Educational Hours and Expenses. The Agency shall provide an annual maximum of 750 educational hours paid at straight-time rates for nurses who have been employed by the Agency for at least six (6) months, to attend non-mandatory educational programs either on site or off site. The Agency shall further provide an annual maximum of $11,500 to assist participating nurses in meeting registration fees and related expenses in conjunction with attending such educational programs. Such days and funds shall be allocated proportionally to each program, subject to being pooled together on or after April 1 of each year and determined based on protocols set by the Professional Nursing Care Committee. Educational days and funds must be used for bona fide education related to the nurse’s position or likely nursing opportunities within the Agency, which will benefit both the Agency and the nurse.
