Extended Illness Bank Sample Clauses

Extended Illness Bank. Employees who were hired prior to January 15, 1984 and who have hours remaining in their extended illness bank may access those hours in accordance with the Employer’s policy. Hours do not accrue in these extended illness banks.
Extended Illness Bank. Sick leave hours accrued prior to July 1, 1984 will constitute an “Extended Illness Bank” for each employee. The Extended Illness Bank is separate from and is not to be used as PTO. 10.8.1 For illness or accident, the first two (2) consecutive scheduled working days missed are taken from the employee’s PTO accrual. Starting with the third consecutive scheduled working day, the sick leave hours retained in the employee’s “Extended Illness Bank” will be used to continue the employee’s regular pay. An illness or accident resulting in hospitalization or surgery, however, will be paid from the Extended Illness Bank from the first day. 10.8.2 Employees will be expected to indicate an illness and then indicate Extended Illness Bank (“EIB”) for subsequent continuous days beyond two (2) in order to assure adjustment to the Extended Illness Bank. If “EIB” is not indicated on the timecard, PTO hours will continue to be reduced.
Extended Illness Bank. An Extended Illness Bank will not accrue additional hours and is administered as follows: 10.10.1 Accumulated but unused hours in a nurse’s Extended Illness Bank may be used after a continuous 2-working day waiting period (one day for per diem nurses) during which the nurse is absent from work due to an injury or illness. PTO must be used during this waiting period if available. The 2-working day waiting period shall be waived for nurses on a pregnancy or parental leave of absence. Extended Illness Bank hours must be requested on a Personnel Change Request. 10.10.2 After becoming eligible to use Extended Illness Bank hours, such hours may also be used to supplement any Workers’ Compensation or disability insurance payments during a period of disability up to the nurse’s regular hourly rate of pay. 10.10.3 Hours in the Extended Illness Bank cannot be converted to PTO hours and are not payable.
Extended Illness Bank. (EIB). Employees shall accrue forty-eight (48) hours per year (prorated for part-time employees) into the Extended Illness Bank (EIB) for use in the event of extended illness. The accrual shall be at the rate of 1.85 hours per pay period or .023 hours per hour worked. The maximum accumulation to the EIB bank shall be five hundred (500) hours. Employees who reach the five hundred (500) hour cap will not accrue additional EIB hours until their accrual drops below five hundred (500) hours. Employees with existing (as of the date of contract ratification) accrued EIB hours in excess of five hundred (500) hours will retain and utilize those hours first, and will not accrue additional hours until their accrual is below five hundred (500) hours. EIB hours may be used in the event of an illness lasting longer than sixteen (16) consecutive scheduled work hours (prorated for part-time employees). The first sixteen (16) consecutive hours of scheduled work time (prorated for part-time employees) missed due to an illness shall be deducted from the employee’s PTO account. As an example of pro-ration, an employee assigned a 0.5 FTE may access EIB after the first eight (8) consecutive hours of scheduled work are missed due to an illness. (0.5 FTE x 16 work hours = 8 hours.) 1. Occupational Injury - In the event an employee incurs an occupational injury for which the employee is eligible for workers compensation insurance, then the employee will have access to their EIB accrual at the first day of absence due to the occupational injury if requested by the employee. Otherwise, employees may use PTO or have the time be unpaid.
Extended Illness Bank. The existing Extended Illness Bank shall be maintained for current participants. It will not accrue additional hours. Extended illness pay is available following completion of thirty-two (32) consecutive scheduled hours of absence due to illness or injury, upon the first day of hospitalization or upon the day of any outpatient procedure that requires at least two (2) days off from work.
Extended Illness Bank. Any accrued EIB hours may be used for days off work due to illness or injury, after the employee has been off the shorter of two (2) workdays scheduled or sixteen (16)
