Effect on Other Actions. (a) If an employee is granted leave without pay for a period in excess of 4 consecutive weeks, the date the employee would have been eligible for merit system status or a higher leave accrual rate must be deferred and reassigned to a later date.

If an employee is granted leave without pay for personal reasons other than FMLA, parental, military, or political leave, for a period in excess of 4 four (4) consecutive weeks, the date the employee would have been eligible for merit system status or a higher leave accrual rate must be deferred and reassigned to a later date.
