Common use of Electrical Power Clause in Contracts

Electrical Power. If the supply is arranged by the Department to the contractor for other than work site necessary Tariff rates shall have to be paid based on the prevailing rates. The contractor will pay the bills for the cost of power consumed by him. The contractor shall satisfy all the conditions and rules required as per Indian Electricity Act 1910 and under rule –45(I) of the Indian Electricity Rules, 1956 as amended from time to time and other pertinent rules. The contractor will have to make his own arrangements to lay and maintain the necessary distribution lines and wiring for the camp at his own cost. The layout and the methods of laying the lines and wiring shall have the prior approval of the Engineer-in-Charge. All camp area shall be properly electrified. All lines, streets, approaches for the camp etc., shall be sufficiently lighted for the safety of staff and labor of the contractor, at the cost of the Contractor and it will be subject to the approval of the Engineer-in-Charge.
