Emergency Cover. On occasion emergency cover situations may arise, for example in circumstances where the school has been unable to source appropriate supply cover and there is no other member of staff within the school (including SMT) with the capacity to cover the class. In such circumstances, any request to vary NCCT must be given in writing and include details of how the time will be paid back. Any agreement to vary NCCT is entirely voluntary and must be subject to recording. Each school will agree how any variation is to be recorded. The 35 hours of the working week are divided into 3 parts, as detailed below: Core and Remaining Time for All Teachers Class contact 22.5 hours (to be delivered weekly or by LNCT approved flexible arrangements. ) Preparation and Correction 7.5 hours Remaining time 5.0 hours 38 weeks 190 hours The working time for part-time teachers is pro rated according to the contract of employment.
