Emergency, Inclement Weather and Natural Disaster Leave. One (1) day or a portion thereof leave per Agreement year without loss of pay may be taken with the approval of the employee's supervisor and/or department head when it is necessary that the employee be immediately off work to attend to one of the following situations either of which necessitates immediate action on the part of the employee: A. The employee’s spouse or domestic partner, child, parents or grandparents has unexpectedly become seriously ill or has had a serious accident; or B. An unforeseen occurrence with respect to the employee’s household (e.g. fire, flood or ongoing loss of power). “Household” will be defined as the physical aspects, including pets, of the employee’s residence or vehicle; or
