Common use of Emergency Premium Rate Clause in Contracts

Emergency Premium Rate. In emergency cases when employees are required to work on the seventh (7th) day worked in a regular calendar week or on the sixth (6th) day worked in a holiday week exclu­ sive of the holiday they shall be paid at the rate of double their regular straight time rate of pay. It is further agreed that no employee shall be required or permitted to work in excess of eight (8) hours on any overtime or premium day.

It is agreed, however, that work on such days may be performed only in cases of extrem e emergency and only when permission is granted through the office of the Union. It is further agreed that no employee shall be required or permitted to work in excess of eight (8) hours on any overtime or premium day.
