Daily Guarantee. (a) Subject to the provisions of Subsection (c), an employee reporting for a scheduled shift on the call of the Corporation, shall receive the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work, with a minimum of two (2) hours' pay at the regular hourly rate.
(b) Subject to the provisions of Subsection (c), an employee other than a school student on a school day who commences work on a scheduled shift, shall receive the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work, with a minimum of four (4) hours' pay at the regular hourly rate.
(c) In any case where an employee:
(i) reports for a regular shift but refuses to commence work, or
(ii) commences work but refuses to continue working, the employee shall not be entitled to receive the minimum payments set forth in Subsections (a) and (b).
Daily Guarantee. Subject to the provisions of paragraph 4.4.3, an employee reporting for a scheduled shift on the call of the City shall receive the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work, with a minimum of two (2) hours' pay at the regular hourly rate. Subject to the provisions of paragraphs 4.4.3 and 4.4.4, an employee other than a school student on a school day who commences work on a scheduled shift, shall receive the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work, with a minimum of four (4) hours' pay at the regular hourly rate. Daily Guarantee. The minimum shift will be four (4) hours. Any employee who reports to work as scheduled, without previous notice not to report, shall receive pay for their scheduled hours of work on that day. Any employee shall receive pay for the scheduled hours of work on the day if sent home prior to completion of scheduled hours, unless terminated as provided in Article 15 of this Agreement. In the event an employee reports for work but has not been advised of a change of their starting time as per this article, they shall be allowed to commence work immediately or the Employer shall pay the employee from the time they reported for work, the foregoing will not apply if the said employee reports early on their own accord.
Daily Guarantee a) Employees reporting for work on the call of the Employer, except school students reporting to work on school days and except Recreation Services staff conducting programs shall be paid the Employee's regular rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work in response to the call, with a minimum in any one (1) day of:
(i) Two (2) hours pay at the Employee's regular rate, except where the Employee's condition is such that he is not competent to perform his duties, or he has failed to comply with the Industrial Health and Safety Regulation of the Workers' Compensation Board; and
(ii) With the exception of Recreation Services staff, any Employee that commences work, four (4) hours pay at the Employee's regular rate, except when his work is suspended because of inclement weather or other reasons completely beyond the control of the Employer.
(iii) For the purpose only of this article (ii) and (iii), Recreation Services staff comprise the classifications of Skate Patrol, Program Workers, Pre-school/Program Instructors, and Lifeguards/Instructors who are not Regular Full-Time Employees. Recreation Services staff shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours pay at the Employee’s regular rate of pay. It is understood that ‘free-standing’ two (2) hour programs will not be scheduled as a matter of course, but will be the exception; four (4) hour blocks will be scheduled whenever possible.
b) School students reporting for work on school days on the call of the Employer. The Employee's regular rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work in response to the call, with a minimum in any one (1) day of two (2) hours' pay at the Employees' regular rate.
Daily Guarantee. Part-time employees who, when reporting to work as scheduled, shall be guaranteed a minimum of three (3) hours.

Daily Guarantee. Is replaced with the following language: “An employee reporting for a scheduled shift on the call of the Employer shall receive the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work, with a minimum of two (2) hour pay at the regular hourly rate. There shall be no split shifting of the two (2) hour shifts. The minimum call for shifts that are dependent on or determined by program registrations will be one and a half (1.5) hours at the employees regular rate of pay rather than the two hour minimum call described above. It is also understood that employees covered by this Letter may have shifts cancelled or shortened due to circumstances beyond the Employer’s control and there will be no payment for those hours not worked.”
Daily Guarantee. (1) Employees reporting for work on the call of the Employer except school students reporting for work on school days: the employee's regular rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work in response to the call, with a minimum in any one
(1) day of:
(a) If the employee does not commence work, two (2) hours' pay at the employee's regular rate, except where the employee's condition is such that they are not competent to perform their duties, or has failed to comply with the Accident Prevention Regulations of WorkSafeBC; and
(b) If the employee commences work, four (4) hours' pay at the employee's regular rate.
(2) School students (i.e., those who attend a recognized educational institution in B.C. enrolled in a full‐time program) reporting for work on school days on the call of the Employer: the employee's regular rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work in response to the call, with a minimum in any one (1) day of two (2) hours' pay at the employee's regular rate.
(3) Notwithstanding paragraphs (1) and (2) above, the Daily Guarantee shall be reduced from four (4) hours to two (2) hours for Regular Part‐Time, Part‐Time, Auxiliary and Temporary Full‐Time Employees when attending staff meetings and/or training sessions to a maximum of four (4) occasions per employee per year.
(4) Effective 2014 June 16: The four (4) hour daily guarantee for Aquatic Staff in the CDPR Division shall be replaced with a minimum of two (2) hours subject to the following:
1. the application of Article 22.03(3);
2. the scheduling of swimming lessons where it is otherwise not possible to create a four (4) hour block of work;
3. providing last minute coverage in the event of unexpected absence or increased attendance at aquatic facilities which could not be foreseen; and,
Daily Guarantee. The principles of the 8-hour guarantee as set forth in the Pacific Coast Xxxxxxxxx Contract Document shall, where applicable, be extended to this Agreement. Addi- tionally, the following supplementary rules shall apply:

(3) School students reporting for work on school days on the call of the Employer: the employee's regular rate of pay for the entire period spent at the place of work in response to the call, with a minimum in any one (1) day of two (2) hours' pay at the employee's regular rate.
