Common use of Employment Elsewhere Clause in Contracts

Employment Elsewhere. Any teacher has the right to make application for a position in another school district while still under contract with the Board. The teacher is free to accept employment elsewhere after the expiration of his/her contract with the Board, or if a tenured teacher, in accordance with the School Code. An application placed with another prospective employer shall not in any way prejudice the teacher's status in his/her present position, it being specifically understood, however, that a teacher in this District shall honor his/her contract unless terminated in accordance with the School Code.
