EMPLOYMENT OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS. A. It is the policy of the Board of Education to employ a substitute teacher whenever a teacher must be absent for a half-day or longer. Such substitutes will normally be persons competent in the area(s) for which the regular teacher is responsible. To provide for situations when persons with the appropriate competencies are unobtainable, arrangements will be made in advance to enable other substitutes to supervise the classes.
