ENGAGEMENT OF PERMANENT AND CONTRACT EMPLOYEES. (1) An employer shall, before engaging an applicant for work, require such applicant to produce a service card issued by the Council, in the form and manner specified by the Council : Provided that, in the case of persons who have not previously been employed in the Clothing Industry (Northern Areas), a period of seven days may elapse before production of the service card shall be required.
