Engagement of Employees. 8.1.1 All prospective Employees may be required to complete an Application for Employment form prior to engagement. Applicants may be required to undertake a pre-employment physical/medical assessment, the cost of which will be borne by the Company. Any Employee who knowingly provides false information in their application or in the medical may be dismissed. 8.1.2 All Employees will initially be engaged on probation for a period of three (3) months. 8.1.3 All new Employees will undergo an industry approved safety induction programme.

Engagement of Employees. 18.1 A person may be engaged as an employee on a full-time, part-time or casual basis. 18.2 At the time of engagement each employee will be informed in writing of the terms of their engagement, including: (a) the type of employment; (b) whether a probationary period applies and, if so, the expected duration of the period and advice regarding the maximum duration of the period; (c) if the person is engaged as a fixed-term employee, the project or task in relation to which the person has been engaged and/or the duration of the engagement; and (d) advice of the main instruments governing the terms and conditions of their employment.

If the level of performance is in question, the Employer may extend the probationary period for a further 3 months before confirming a permanent appointment. 4.1.3 While an Employee is on probation, either the Employee or the Employer may terminate the employment relationship for any reason (not limited to matters specified in this Agreement) by giving 2 weeks notice or payment in lieu, unless the termination is for misconduct that justifies summary dismissal.
