ENROLLING NEW STUDENTS. Students entering Bethel schools should not be placed in their permanent classroom for a minimum of 24 hours after entry except where prohibited by law. This wait allows the receiving teacher to organize his or her classroom to prepare for the new student. During this 24-hour period, (one school day), the school may do entry testing, gather information about the student from the previous school, use a student welcomer to orient the student to the school or other activities before the school day is over, and if the parent is agreeable the student may return home until the following day.
