Equipment Maintenance and Fueling. a. A separate area should be designated for equipment maintenance and fueling, away from any slopes, watercourses, or drainage facilities. b. Equipment should not be stored in areas that will potentially drain to watercourses or drainage facilities. If equipment must be stored in areas with the potential to generate runoff, drip pans, berms, gravel bags, or absorbent booms should be employed to contain any leaks or spills. c. Equipment should be inspected daily for leaks or damage and promptly repaired. d. Fueling and maintenance of vehicles should take place at least 65 feet away from waterways. e. In the event of a spill, follow procedures outlined in HVYEQ 6.
