It shall be the responsibility of the nurse to part-time nurses only) consult posted work schedules. The Hospital agrees will endeavour to continue provide as much advance notice as is practicable of a change in the posted schedule. Changes to the posted work schedule shall be brought to the attention of the nurse. Where less than forty-eight hours' notice is given personally to the nurse, time and half of the nurse's regular straight time hourly rate will be paid for all hours worked on the first shift of her new schedule. When a nurse is required to travel to the hospital or to return to her home as a result of reporting to or off work between the hours o f at any time while on standby, the Hospital will pay any greater monetary benefit for ambulance escort duty if transportation costs either by taxi or by her own vehicle at the rate of thirty-five cents per mile (to a maximum of fourteen dollars or such greater benefit was amount as the Hospital may in its discretion determine for each trip between the aforementioned hours. The nurse will provide to the Hospital satisfactory proof of payment of such taxi fare. A nurse who works a second consecutive full tour shall be entitled to the normal rest periods and meal period for the second tour, but shall be provided at the time of the meal period with a hot meal or four dollars if the Hospital is unable to provide the hot meal. Other nurses required to work more than two hours overtime on the same day they have worked a full tour shall, after the two hours, receive a hour paid meal period and shall be provided with a hot meal or four dollars if the Hospital is unable to provide the hot meal. A nurse shall be paid a weekend premium of one dollar and five cents per hour for each hour worked between hours Friday and hours Sunday, or such other hour period as the local parties may agree upon. If a nurse is receiving premium pay under Article pursuant to a local scheduling regulation with respect to consecutive weekends worked, she will not receive weekend premium under this provision. A nurse who otherwise qualifies under Article hereunder shall receive eleven paid holidays as designated in the Appendix of Local Provisions. Effective April the number of paid holidays hereunder shall be increased to twelve, with the designation of the twelfth holiday to be determined by local negotiation. holiday shall be subject to local determination and such designation shall not add to the present number of holidays. In order to qualify for pay for a holiday, a nurse shall complete her full scheduled shift on each of the working days immediately preceding and following the holiday concerned unless excused by the Hospital under or the nurse was absent due to: legitimate illness or accident which commenced within a Collective Agreement immediately prior month of the date of the holiday; vacation granted by the Hospital; the nurse’s regular scheduled day off; a paid leave of absence provided the nurse is not otherwise compensated for the holiday. A nurse entitled to this Agreementholiday pay hereunder shall not receive sick leave pay to which she may otherwise have been entitled unless she was to work that day. This note applies A nurse receiving Worker’s Compensation Benefits for the day of the holiday shall, subject to the above provisions, be entitled to the difference between the amount of the Workers’ Compensation Benefits and the holiday pay. Holiday pay will be computed on the basis of the nurse’s regular straight time hourly rate of pay times the number of hours for a normal daily tour as set out in Article (a). Subject to Article Where a holiday falls during a nurse’s scheduled vacation period, her vacation shall be extended by one day unless the nurse and the Hospital agree to schedule a different day off with pay. Where a holiday falls on a nurse’s scheduled day off an additional day off with pay will be scheduled. A nurse required to work on any of the foregoing holidays shall be paid at Hospitals where this superior condition the rate of time and one-half her regular straight time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on such holiday subject to Article In addition, she will receive a lieu day off with pay in the amount of her regular straight time hourly rate of pay times the number of hours in a normal daily tour as of Decemberset out in Article (a).
