Supervisor. Within ten (10) business days from the occurrence of the matter on which a complaint is based, or within ten (10) business days from his/her knowledge of such occurrence, an employee shall file a formal written grievance. Three copies of the departmental grievance form shall be completed by the employee stating the nature of the grievance and the remedy requested from his/her departmental Management. The employee shall submit two copies to his/her immediate supervisor and retain the third copy.
Supervisor. A supervisory employee is any person with the authority to hire, transfer, layoff, discharge, promote or effectively discipline other employees, or who has the responsibility to direct other employees or effectively recommend any such action if, in connection with the foregoing, the exercise of such authority or responsibility is not a mere routine or clerical act but requires the use of independent judgment and skill.
Supervisor. The term “supervisor” means any individual having authority in the interest of the Employer, to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline other employees, or responsible to direct them, or to adjust their grievances, or effectively to recommend such action, if in connection with the foregoing the exercise of such authority is not of a merely routine or clerical nature, but requires the use of independent judgment.
Supervisor. Employee who gives work direction to subordinate staff including scheduling, arranging vacations and authorizing overtime.
Supervisor. A Supervisor shall be designated as being responsible for assigning duties to the employee. In no case may an employee be responsible to more than one individual.

For units that include firefighters or nurses, the term “supervisor” includes only those individuals who devote a preponderance of their employment time to exercising such authority (5 U.S.C. 7103(a)(10)).
