Common use of Examination Time Clause in Contracts

Examination Time. Employees having regular status in regular positions at the time of application shall be entitled to a reasonable amount of time off with pay for the purpose of attending all examination processes required for selection to a different County position. Employees are responsible for notifying and obtaining approval from their immediate supervisor prior to taking such leave. Examination time off shall not be charged against any accumulated leave balances and shall be compensated at the employee’s base hourly rate. An employee is not entitled to compensation for any examination process that occurs on a day that the employee is not scheduled to work. (Note: This is a clarification only and does not change the application of this language). Employees having probationary status, including those who have previously held regular status in another classification, are not entitled to examination time off with pay.
