Common use of Examination Time Clause in Contracts

Examination Time. Employees in regular positions with regular status at the time of application shall be entitled to a reasonable amount of time off with pay for the purpose of taking County Fire, Special Districts or County promotional examinations or for selection interviews. Employees are responsible for notifying and obtaining approval from their immediate supervisor prior to taking such leave. Such time off shall not be charged against any accumulated leave.

Employees having probationary status, including those who have previously held regular status in another classification, are not entitled to examination time off with pay.
