Common use of Examination Time Clause in Contracts

Examination Time. ‌ Employees in regular positions with regular status at the time of application shall be entitled to a reasonable amount of time off with pay for the purpose of taking CONFIRE, County Fire, Special Districts or County promotional examinations or for selection interviews. Employees are responsible for notifying and obtaining approval from their immediate supervisor prior to taking such leave. Such time off shall not be charged against any accumulated leave. Employees must report to work before and after examination time provided there is an opportunity for at least one (1) hour of actual work time. The employee will not be required to return to work if more than one (1) hour remains after Examination Time and the employee has received prior approval from the appointing authority or designee to use appropriate leave from the employee’s accrued “leave bank.”
