Exchange Professors Leave. A faculty member may be granted leave to teach at another accredited institution of higher education while a faculty member from that institution teaches at YSU. This leave shall be limited to a maximum of one (1) academic year, and it shall not be available for the summer. The YSU faculty member’s full salary, fringes, retirement plans, and all other rights and privileges shall remain in effect during the leave as though the individual were at YSU. The other faculty member’s institution shall bear sole responsibility for their salary, fringes, and other rights and privileges. The YSU faculty member’s application shall provide information on the other exchange professor and the proposed duties of both the YSU faculty member and the other faculty member during the year of leave. Each individual shall be prepared to teach a full load at the host institution. This leave requires the approval of the Administrations of both institutions. Persons on such leave shall be referred to as “Exchange Professors” at the host institution. The Exchange Professor at YSU shall not have the shared rights specified in Article 9 (The Academic Environment). Relocation costs shall be the responsibility of the Exchange Professors.
