Excused Time. 1. Bargaining unit employees absent from work to serve on jury duty or testify as a witness, after receiving a duly served subpoena under the seal of the court, are considered on official business. This will not apply to principals (or litigants) in any personal legal action. Bargaining unit employees seeking to be excused under this section will present the subpoena to their supervisor.
2. Bargaining unit employees released from court before the end of their workday will report to work as soon as possible. This applies to all shifts.
Excused Time. SECTION 1. Employees shall be excused by the Company with pay under the following conditions:
(a) Absence Due to Contagious Disease Quarantine. Unavoidable absence due to contagious disease quarantine, which is approved by the Medical Department of the Company, shall be paid for on the same basis as though the absence were due to the employee's personal sickness disability.
Excused Time. 1. Excused time is defined as time [not exceeding thirty (30) consecutive days] away from the job, for reasons other than personal illness or injury arranged for or assumed to be arranged for in advance with local management. Excused time can be paid, not paid, or partially paid based upon the provisions of each article in this contract.
2. Requests for excused time will be granted or not granted based upon the customer service requirement needs of the business. Requests must be made in advance.
3. An employee on excused time is considered on active status for benefit purposes.
Excused Time. WITHOUT PAY
Excused Time. Provide clarification of excused time, ill time and W time as it applies in the Me To clause of the contract. Neither individuals nor districts shall be disadvantaged because of interpretation of company policy.
Excused Time. In an emergency situation a supervisor may excuse an employee for a short period, without pay, but allow that employee to make up such lost time later in the work day or later in the same payroll week, so as to avoid loss of pay for the week. In any such instance the supervisor shall be the judge as to whether such make up work can be efficiently and conveniently scheduled or arranged, and no such make up work shall count in the computation of daily overtime.

Requested absence, arranged in advance, for a doctor’s appointment should not be considered personal illness and shall be excused, non-paid time. Requests must be made in advance.
3. An employee on excused time is considered on active status for benefit purposes.
Excused Time. During each year the Agreement is in effect, the maximum excused time which will be granted, without pay, to other than full-time Union officials to attend to Union business is: Executive President, Executive Secretary-Treasurer, 350 Days Executive Vice-President, collectively * Other Executive Committee Members 30 Days Members appointed by Union to 8 Days perform delegated duties * The Executive President, Executive Secretary-Treasurer, and Executive Vice President each will spend a minimum of 20 days per contract year performing his or her regular job duties for the Company.

(b) Absence Due to Death in the Immediate Family. An employee excused because of death in his immediate family shall be paid for necessary absent time but not more than the number of tours he is scheduled to work as part of his normal work week during the five calendar days immediately following the death. "Immediate family" as used in this Article means the employee's parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, husband, wife, mother-in-law, or father-in-law. This term may also include other persons who live in the same house with the employee.
Excused Time. Excused time is time off without pay. When service requirements permit, the Company may afford the employee the opportunity to take excused time off from the position. Requests for excused time will be approved on a “first come, first served” basis.
