Excused Time. 1. Excused time is defined as time [not exceeding thirty (30) consecutive days] away from the job, for reasons other than personal illness or injury arranged for or assumed to be arranged for in advance with local management. Excused time can be paid, not paid, or partially paid based upon the provisions of each article in this contract. 2. Requests for excused time will be granted or not granted based upon the customer service requirement needs of the business. Requests must be made in advance. 3. An employee on excused time is considered on active status for benefit purposes.
