Common use of Exemption of Continuous Nonmembers Clause in Contracts

Exemption of Continuous Nonmembers. ‌ County employees who are in the bargaining unit and who are not members of the Union the first pay period following Board of Supervisors approval of this amended memorandum shall be exempt from Article 20 in its entirety for as long as they remain employed in this bargaining unit and remain nonmembers of the Union. However, this exemption shall not prohibit a nonmember in the bargaining unit from voluntarily paying the Fair Share Agency Shop Fee through payroll deduction.
