Common use of Extension of Tenure-Track Probationary Period Clause in Contracts

Extension of Tenure-Track Probationary Period. An untenured Faculty member may apply, in writing, for an extension of her/his tenure-track probationary period due to circumstances of an exceptional nature (e.g., serious health problems requiring in-patient care or treatment of the Faculty member or a member of the Faculty member’s immediate family living in the same household where the Faculty member’s presence is necessary, assumption of parental duties for a new born child or an adopted child, or other exceptional circumstances).
