Facilities and Support. 10.1 The University shall determine and provide Lecturer Faculty with facilities and services appropriate to the performance of their job duties and conducive to performing their duties in a professional manner. 10.2 Lecturer Faculty will be assigned to office space by the Department Chair or other unit administrator, adequate to fit at least a desk, a guest chair, and book storage space per occupant. Where departmental space allocations allow, this will be a private office space in proximity to their home department or program. 10.2.1 Private office space shall be given to Principal Lecturers. Principal Lecturers shall not be involuntarily displaced from their offices in favor of newer faculty members of any type. 10.2.2 Senior Lecturers with ten (10) or more years of UNH faculty service shall not be involuntarily displaced from their offices, whether private or shared, in favor of newer faculty members of any type. 10.2.3 Where space constraints necessitate the sharing of offices among Lecturer Faculty already in post, the reasons for this will be communicated in writing to the individuals in question. 10.2.4 In situations in which office space must be shared among Lecturer Faculty of equal rank, the particular requirements of individuals’ assigned teaching and service activities will be given consideration in the office assignment. 10.2.5 When the space is not sufficient for private offices, there shall be designated space made available for Lecturer Faculty to schedule private meetings with students or colleagues. 10.3 Situations necessitating an involuntary modification of office assignment will be based on demonstrable programmatic, facilities or logistical needs. Lecturer Faculty will be given at least 45 days notice of such changes, unless an unforeseen situation dictates otherwise. 10.4 The University shall provide each Lecturer Faculty member with reasonable office and computer support equipment, supplies, and services to enable email and mail communication; access to relevant facilities and administrative support; library privileges; and computing capability including access to course management software and software required for the delivery of course materials. 10.5 Lecturer Faculty shall be able to access their work facilities (including classrooms, offices, and labs) when needed for the performance of their professional responsibilities. However, this shall not preclude the University from restricting access when necessary for university operations or in case of emergency. 10.6 All Lecturer Faculty shall be assigned a University of New Hampshire email account, a Blackboard/Webcat (or successor software) account, and a UNH ID as soon as is practicable upon completion of all appointment paperwork. Lecturer Faculty shall follow university procedures and provide requested information in order to obtain such services. 10.7 All Lecturer Faculty members not terminated for cause and who have complied with terms of this Agreement and all policies applicable to the use of university email shall be provided access to a University of New Hampshire email account, a Webcat (or successor software) account, and any applicable course management systems for 90 days after the end of their employment. The former Lecturer Faculty member must continue to comply with the terms of this Agreement and all policies applicable to the use of university information assets. 10.8 Upon request, a Lecturer Faculty member will be provided instruction on how to safely operate equipment provided by the University in the performance of his or her duties.

10.4 The University shall provide each Lecturer Faculty member Officers of Instruction with a university email address, a mailbox, access to a telephone number and voicemail, reasonable office space and computer support equipment, suppliesdesk space, and services reasonable access to enable a telephone, a computer, storage space in an office or similar location that locks, a printer, a copier, private space for meeting with students (which need not be dedicated for this purpose), and access to electronic course management systems such as Blackboard. All of the spaces, systems and equipment (except email and mail communication; access to relevant facilities and administrative support; library privileges; and computing capability including access to course management software and software required for the delivery of course materialsmailboxes) listed in this section may be shared.
10.5 Lecturer Faculty Section 3. The University shall provide Officers of Research with a university email address, a mailbox, a telephone number and voicemail, appropriate workspace, and appropriate equipment to complete assigned work. All of the spaces, systems and equipment (except email and mailboxes) listed in this section may be able shared.
Section 4. Bargaining unit faculty members shall have the right to access their work facilities (including classrooms, offices, and labs) when needed for the performance of their professional responsibilities.
Section 5. However, this A bargaining unit faculty member who complies with the university’s processes and deadlines around the assignment of classroom space shall not preclude be provided one classroom for the University from restricting access when necessary duration of a class period. Exceptions shall be made in the following circumstances:
(a) for university operations or pedagogical reasons; or
(b) in case of emergency. This Agreement recognizes that exceptions may also be made when the length or scheduled time of the class period makes it difficult to provide a single classroom for the entire class meeting. In those circumstances, the University will take reasonable steps to avoid these exceptions by anticipating late enrollment and the needs of programs where length and schedule time of class periods may be different from the classroom scheduling protocols applicable elsewhere in the university. A bargaining unit faculty member may discuss with his or her supervisor preferences for or concerns about specific classrooms before assignments are made. Bargaining unit faculty members will be provided with classroom space sufficient to seat the maximum enrollment established at the time the course is opened for student registration. Assigned classrooms will have the technology identified by the bargaining unit member and approved at the time the course is opened for student registration. Reasonable technological support will be made available. The University may change a classroom assignment if a classroom is determined to be inaccessible for a student or employee. A bargaining unit faculty member should notify the Office of the Registrar as soon as he or she identifies a barrier to the access of a student or employee to or within a classroom. The University will comply with all applicable laws regarding disabilities and access for bargaining unit faculty members.
10.6 Section 6. All Lecturer Faculty bargaining unit faculty members shall be assigned assigned, and shall be expected to use for university purposes, a University of New Hampshire Oregon email account, a Blackboard/Webcat (or successor software) Duckweb account, and a UNH ID DuckID at least 15 days before the employment start date or as soon as is practicable upon completion of all appointment paperworkpracticable. Lecturer Faculty Bargaining unit members shall follow university procedures and provide requested information in order to obtain such services.
10.7 All Lecturer Faculty Section 7. The University shall comply with all laws regarding accessibility of web- based communications. The University shall furnish appropriate aids and services to bargaining unit faculty members not terminated for cause with disabilities as required by law.
