Common use of Faculty Availability Clause in Contracts

Faculty Availability. 1. Full-time faculty shall set aside no less than one forty (40) minute period for each assigned course throughout the week so that faculty is readily available to students. Faculty shall post their schedules on their office doors and shall file a copy with their department chair. 2. Part-time faculty and Full-Time faculty who accept optional overload assignments shall be available to students for at least one forty-minute (40) period for each course taught. 3. During this time, students may solicit assistance in problems they may be experiencing in courses offered by the faculty member and faculty member advice regarding alternative course selections in a discipline. As time permits, the faculty member may also address other matters of interest to their students.
