Family Care and Health. a. An employee who has successfully completed the probationary period may be granted an extended leave following the use of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) without pay or fringe benefits for illness or health reasons, or to care for a sick or injured member of the employee’s immediate family, or immediately following the birth or adoption of a child if the request is made while the employee is under the FMLA. If the employee does not qualify for FMLA leave but has successfully completed the probationary period, the employee may be granted extended leave without pay or fringe benefits for illness or health reasons, or to care for a sick or injured member of the employee’s immediate family, or immediately following the birth or adoption of a child.
