Family or Household Critical Care Needs. The sick leave pool may be used for critical health care of “immediate family” as defined in the Professional Negotiated Agreement. a. To be eligible to benefit from this policy, the family or household member must be critically ill and require the presence of the employee to care for him/her. Short-term child care because a person is out of sick leave is not within the scope of this policy. b. The family or household member must be under a licensed health care provider’s written recommendation. Formal documentation to support family/household care needs shall be included with the completed sick leave pool application form. (see attached) c. The committee has the discretion to seek additional information.
