Fines and Liability. The overdue fine for a laptop returned after it is due is $1 per hour for IN LIBRAY USE ONLY laptops. The maximum fine for IN LIBRARY USE ONLY laptops is $50. The overdue fine for a five day checkout laptop is $25 per day. All fines and charges will be attached to the user’s library account. If the laptop is not returned by the end of the semester, a $1500 replacement fee will be billed to the borrower’s account. If the laptop is not returned within 30 days after the item is billed, no credit is given. • The individual checking out the laptop assumes all responsibility for the laptop while in his/her custody. The UAM Xxxxxx Library assumes no responsibility if the laptop is stolen while checked out to a patron. • You will be responsible for the replacement charges. Fines and fees are billed to your UAM account.
Fines and Liability.  When the Hotspot is 1 day past due it will be deactivated, rendering the device unusable.  An overdue fine of $10.00 per day, up to the full replacement cost of $200, will be charged for a hotspot that is not returned. Patrons are responsible for full replacement cost if the device or any parts are lost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise not returned. The complete replacement cost for the Hotspot is $200. Individual accessory replacement fines are as follows: Case -$20.00, Power Cord -$10.00, SIM Card -$25.00 ,Wristlet-$5.00, Information sheets $2.00.  Patrons with overdue mobile units will be referred to a Collection Agency after 10 days, with a Service Fee added to the account.

Fines and Liability.  The overdue fine on an Electronic Device is $1 per day. If an item is more than 30 days overdue, it is considered lost and you will receive a bill to cover the replacement. If a billed item is returned in good condition within 60 days of due date, the bill will be removed from your record but you will be charged overdue fines.  All Electronic Devices borrowed are to be returned to the Library Front Desk by close of business on their due date. Electronic Devices may not be returned in the front entrance or drive through book drops.  The Borrower is solely responsible for the Electronic Device and will be billed for the repair or replacement cost associated with damage loss of an Electronic Device and/or peripherals as a result of neglect or abuse. Damage or loss fees may be incurred up to one week after check in.  A list of replacement costs of Electronic Devices is maintained by the library and is available for viewing upon request.  Patrons who have paid for lost items, then find them within 60 days past the due date, may receive a refund. If customers find materials 60 or more days after the due date, no refunds will be made.  It is the borrower’s responsibility to protect the Electronic Device against loss or damage.  The Xxxxxx County Library is not responsible for any injury, loss or damage that may occur from the use of an Electronic Device.  The Xxxxxx County Library is not responsible for the loss of data while using this equipment.
Fines and Liability.  The patron is responsible to return the device in the same condition as when it was checked out. o If the patron logs into any apps, services or settings on the device, they alone are responsible for logging out before returning the device. o If a patron takes photos or videos on a device, they are responsible for clearing the device of the content.  Tampering with the device is prohibited. This will result in a charge for the full replacement cost of the device. o Tampering includes, but is not limited to, downloading, hacking or modifications of any sort. o Do NOT register the device with a personal credit card to purchase items or connect the device to a personal computer.  If the device and/or accessories are damaged or lost while in the patron’s possession, the patron will be charged accordingly.  Circulating devices cannot be returned in the library’s book drop due to risk of damage. Failure to return the device to an Onondaga Free Library staff member at the circulation desk will result in a charge for the full cost of the device.  The library will NOT accept replacement of lost items in lieu of payment for the circulating device.  No refunds are given if items are found after payment. *Replacement costs of all Library of Things items can be found at xxxxx://xxxxxxxxx.xxx/check-it-out/library-of-things. Fines and Liability.  Fines are $1/day.  The mobile HotSpot needs to be kept in a space with consistent temperature. DO NOT leave in direct sunlight.  The patron is responsible for costs related to lost or damaged HotSpots and accessories.  If a HotSpot is overdue by 30+ days, the patron will be charged the full replacement cost ($70 for the HotSpot, $8 for case, $10 for charger and adapter). The HotSpot cannot be returned at this point.
